Jeremy James, Residential New Homes Director at Savills shares why he wanted bespoke training for his team, what it focused on and the positive impact it’s had on his department.
Tell us about your agency
So, my name is Jeremy James. I am the New Home Sales Director for Savills, and we sell property across all of London at different price ranges, we have a team of about 60 new home sales negotiators.
Why did you want bespoke training for your team?
So Reapit is at the heart of everything we do as a sales team. We’ve got about 60 sales negotiators and it’s just essential that we were able to manage our CRM correctly for both our buyers and of course our clients. And whilst we have a good understanding and knowledge of it, it was evident that we could be better at it.
So, we wanted to put together some classes, working alongside Reapit, for the sales negotiators into smaller groups to really get under the skin of it and make sure that we’re using it to its maximum efficiency.
What was the focus of the training?
In terms of the training, we came together in a class of about 12 to 14 people, it seemed like a really good number of people. It encouraged interactiveness between different individuals but also made it a cost-effective exercise as well.
We were looking at focusing on the applicant management side, rather than the property management side, so we were focusing on particularly matching and also, not data cleansing, but ensuring that the data accuracy was exactly where it should be; and that’s something where we’ve fallen behind in the past when collecting data, but then we needed to ensure that we actually had it at its maximum efficiency.
What impact has the training had on your operations?
The impact of the training has been massive in terms of the people, the usage of Reapit, the understanding of it, engaging with it and getting more from it. And we are being far more diligent when we’re adding our applicant to the database. We’re always brilliant at the qualification of the buyer, it’s just ensuring that Reapit, our CRM system, could use that as well, so we’re acting on top of that.
The matching as well, we’ve been doing an awful lot of that since the training. And the shortcuts that Alex was able to teach us were incredible, they’ve made life so much easier. And the way that it was all explained from beginning to end, led to a renewed passion for it when we came out. I simply could not recommend it enough.

What advice would you give to anyone considering bespoke training from Reapit?
The bespoke training for us worked brilliantly and we were able to cut into the five sections and throughout we could swap and change slightly. It was absolutely the right thing for us Savills to do, and it worked very well in terms of the results out. We were stronger at some sections than others and whilst we’ve been watching the Reapit IQ videos and we continue to do that, it was the bespoke training that absolutely made it for us.
Having done the training, we did an initial taster session and we thought, can we make this work? And the answer was absolutely yes, and we rolled it out to all the negotiators within the sales teams. We would continue to do it on a quarterly basis without a doubt and hopefully, over time we would grow on our use of Reapit.
I would also add that Alex, who undertook the training with us, was an extremely patient individual. He had a group of unique, brilliant, wonderful people, but knew how to keep everyone’s attention together and what kept everyone fully engaged, with the level of fun in the room, on a subject that could be slightly dry at times.
So, from my perspective, it was well worth it. Well worth it from a budget perspective. When the market is tight, now is the time to do this training.
